Looking to see if anyone has thoughts on how to match flush up a NAPA 271301 HD clutch fan w/ a long neck water pump ? I don't have to use the NAPA clutch, but it seems beefy and up to the task, but it won't line up flush against the water pump shaft and I don't feel comfortable extending the studs not to mention alignment will then be an issue. Has anyone simply cut back the shaft ( male end ) on the pump or drilled out the housing of the clutch fan ( female ) ?? Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated -- I figure someone must be using a long neck pump with that Napa clutch fan.. Thanks - Lee.
