Herb....saw some on Ebay a week ago. Do a search on not only "Sun" but "Sun Electric" . They pop up all the time. I actually happen to work for Sun Electric :bglasses:
Thanks I found some on ebay today but I was hoping someone would have a complete set so I didnt have to bid on 4 different items. Also does sun still make senders that will work with those vintage gauges. Thanks Again
Sun Electric sold off the guage business years ago to a company called Actron. Snap On Tools bought Sun in 1996 or so. Sun still makes automotive diagnostic and repair equipment for the automotive repair industry. Im a field service technician for them.
I'de be interested in locating some senders myself. I have some NIB Sun gauges from the 60's I want to put on my nailhead. Oil pressure and water temp only. Hardware for mounting but nothing to the engine. Perhaps these were sold as a separate item. Maybe I need to get a set of cheapo Sunpro gauges and use their fittings.?? Steve
I have Sun guages in a couple of cars. Still work decent after 30+ years. :beer: Senders for electrical guages are hard to come by. Last I recall was they were available in the 1980's and then gone. The 2 5/8 guages used p/n's WTS-375 (3/8" thread) and WTS-500 (1/2" thread). There may have been other sizes. There was a rumor that some type of Ford sender was compatible with the Sun senders, but I was never able to find out which one. Maybe someone out there knows which one. Would like to find a 2 5/8 Sun vacuum guage (blue dial) myself. Just don't feel like spending a fortune. ou: Hope the sender info helps, Mark
I have 2 vintage Sun tachs, the one on the left has a cracked lens. I also have the sending unit for the tachs. I don't know what they're worth or how they work but they have been in dry storage for over 15 years. Artie
Wanted Sun vintage gauges I have an old ,early 70's Sun super tach that I beleive goes to 10,000. I haven't used it since the early 80's. The wires just hook up to the back. If you are interested,pm me and I will try to find it this weekend and I can send you some pictures. I have the chrome cap and I think both the column and dash mounts. Mike Nussell
