Phil It really *is* a 350...

If anyone is in the Chicagoland area and has a good roof that they can cut off of a car they are stripping, please let me know. I need it cut from the bottom of the rear window and the bottom of the a-pillars.

I have a pair of *solid* 72 Skylark doors with glass in my shed that I will trade for the roof if necessary.

    Thanks,

    -Phil

    Phil,
If you can figure out how to get it from me to you (about 2 hour drive), I have a complete '71 Skylark Shell (Roof, 1/4s, A-Pillars) that I just took apart, but won't be using. PM me with your phone number, ASAP, and I'll call you about it! :bglasses:

    Scott,

My brother-in-law and his truck are ready, I got the trailer reserved, and we'll be heading out your way early Saturday morning. Should see you sometime between breakfast and lunch. Just mail or PM your address so I can make a roadmap and we'll be all good.

    Thanks again,

make sure to check you serpentine belt before you leave to get there. I some how shreaded half of one in the truck I was borrowing from someone on my way to Scott's. imagine a serpintene belt half the width. and yet stayed on and got me to his place.

    i'm a lucky SOB.

 The main thing is that you GOT HERE, safely! :TU:

I don't think you ever told me about the 4 barrel intake difference, after you put in on the car! Did you?:Do No:

I'm slowly selling off my collection to get rid of parts I'm not using, to help me focus on my MAIN project: the 4 Door! :bglasses:

I just pulled the original 350 engine out of it, last weekend, and gave it to another board member from here, for us to transplant in his Daily Driver. :beer

Without the engine, I can now clean and detail the engine compartment, and get it ready for the 455! It's getting a "temporary" GS350 engine, just so I can move it around if I have to. Things are starting to look promising for the completion of the 4 Door GSX, finally! :bglasses:

Scott rember how i said the heat transfer passage way was slightly collapsed and i brazed it up? it's still on the car. though the engine is having other issues outside of that. but all is good. i have the 455 parts up at my new house in milwaukee so that project will be started shortly.

Yeah, I do remember you telling me that, now. My GS has the same problem right now (choke assembly is rotted in the intake, causing vacuum leak). I'm just going to buy a T/A Performance 350 intake for it and call it done.

The 455 in your convertible will be SCARY! :TU:
My Convertible has a STRONG 350 in it, but I can't imagine what a 455 would be like in there!:eek2:

Keep me posted with that, if you will! :beer :bglasses:

I'm going to run a thread on it prolly when I get started. and I hope she'll be a little scary. I'm not going crazy on the gearing and still jumping between switch pitch and not. And to really boggle things I have a lead on an inexpensive built 200R4.

the convert handles really well now with the upgraded sway bars. and with that guy who did a fantastic alignment with added caster with factory parts. it should make it a little less scary.

    Scott,

I got the rear clip home in one piece and everything is now in the garage waiting to be tooled on. I even went out on Saturday evening and bought a Lincoln wire-feed welder.

I didn't get to work on it at all on Sunday. I had to rake the yard (wife's orders).

Thanks again, and I'll make sure to give you a ring if I think of anything I can use!!
