Wanted: a set of nice ‘68 door lock knobs in black. The door lock knobs on a ‘68 were unique to just the ‘68 models as they were the same color as the interior vinyl. The ‘69-‘70 used the same knob design but were chrome regardless of the interior color. My lock knobs are very worn. I can get a pair of reproductions for $8.99 but I’d rather find really nice originals. I do not want to paint or dye a set to black. I’m looking for a set that are made of black plastic. Thanks!
Those repros look better than they did a few years ago. I wish they would make them for white interiors.... My originals look like yours. 95% of people don't even know that the 68 model year used color coordinated lock pulls... Wow, $14.99 shipping for a door lock knob! With the 9.25% sales tax that eBay will add. A single door lock knob will be over $78. I’ll have to pass. If I don’t find some nice originals I might try the reproductions. At least the price is good at $8.99 for a pair with free shipping. I’m hoping someone has a 4-door parts car with a nice pair of knobs on the rear doors. Finding a nice set of white knobs will be tough. I’ll keep my opens open for you. You are right that the 1-year-only color coordinated door lock knobs seem to be unknown to most folks. The location of the door locks is different on the ‘68 when compared to the ‘69-up models.
