Wanted: Gear vendors overdrive for short tail turbo 400. P type....not old j type.

Looking for new or used gear vendors overdrive for short tail turbo 400. I do not want the old j type.......want the newer style P type.

Since I too am shopping, what is the difference between a P type and J type and how does one tell the difference?

I came across a used j type for a turbo 400 short tail for 1000.00. I thought it was a great deal until I called gear vendors. They said it was an old model that is no longer supported. So.....j types that fit turbo 400s are out there......and that is why I specified.

Found one! . Harder than finding a pink unicorn. Should be here next week.......hope it is as nice as advertised.

Nice! hope it works out.

I recall an article from Hot Rod, possibly, from years ago, where a street racer with an LS6 chevelle had a manually shifted overdrive. Possibly the J type? I liked the extra shifter between the seats....
