I painted my trunk 2 years ago; here's my word of caution.
My car's trunk was reconstructed- so it was bare metal. I wanted to seal it, so I used an epoxy primer. Unfortunately, I don't know painting, and the primer was medium-dark green. It WILL show thru / tint the spatter paint. s'OK on my car - it's not stock - but I was looking to match my '64 GM's trunk, just on familiarity. It looks fine, but it's not at all like the factory GM job.

Zolatone is nice stuff. I did my 66 this summer with the Silver/Gray, $65/qt on Amazon.
Definitely put a color-matching base coat down before applying it to save on material.
It was a pita to use, it kept clogging the gun, but the results are fantastic.

Walt, your trunk really looks good. Clean and neat. The 67 trunk has a medium/dark gray color with aqua spatters. Nobody makes a spatter paint that matches the original appearance of 67s.
