Hi guys i just bought a 65gs 2dr hardtop that is a factory 4 spd car that is basically a rolling project with motor and bellhousing still in the car but the 4spd and shifter and shift linkage gone. I am looking for the 4 spd to complete the driveline and would love a correct trans or something close to correct I believe it was a T-10? thanks mike. nailheadpoweredgs@sbcglobal.net

You just missed one on ebay last week

I'm working on the same project, although the engine and trannie were gone.
I have extras... but will probably use a 67 Muncie for the transmission. you are doing well with that bellhousing there still!

Looks like the one on Ebay never sold so you could contact him and see if its gonna be relisted or not,if I was not concerned about originality I would use a Muncie anyway as in my opinion they are a much superior tranny than the t10 Borg, goodluck finding one though.Any Muncie will fit but you probably want one with a early course spline input and 27 output so you can use an original clutch and drive shaft. Also I would use a Hurst competition shifter as they are a much better shifter than the original setup.

Here's an article I think you will find of interest on putting a Hurst in a '66 with a T10. I imagine it will be similar if not the same.

Muncie's seem to be pretty easy to find. It's all a matter of how much you want to spend. But then, what isn't.

Just to set the record a little straighter....The T-10 used in the '65 and '66 GS's was arguably the best of them all. It used nickle steel gears and was virtually indestructible. The Corvette guys love to get them for their innards...Dan

Broke my t-10 from my 65 GS in three pieces, Casing/ pilot shaft and the yoke section :3gears: the frame was bad and I put new u-joints and then went out and power shifted the car. BANG big BANG driveshaft/mufflers what a mess ! :ball: I was at the age of just getting over young and dumb  unforunately I don't know if I'll ever get over dumb? Moz
