I am looking for a 71 or 72 Riviera. I have a good running 455 and a trans., so the motor is not important. Looking for a good solid body with little to no rust. Good interior would be nice but not critical. I would prefer a GS console car but not necessary. Trying to find something not too far away. I live in northeast TN. Please contact me or post on board with pics and asking price if possible. Thanks: Marty

    Hello -

I have a 72 with excellent sheetmetal. A couple of small dents on the hood but no rust or rot at all.
The car spent its life in Georgia and South Carolina. 53K original miles. Car has desirable options such
as passenger side mirror, factory bumper guards, fiber optic turn signal indicators on the fenders.
I had it shipped to me in Milwaukee from Georgia when I bought it.

The other thing you wanted was a good interior. This is the premium interior, 60/40 split bench
(sorry no console!). Seats feel like vinyl but could be leather (not fabric). Interior and headliner
in very good condition. Off-white upholstery with ash, carpet and door panels are dark brown.
Bumper chrome shows age so I found another set with with much better chrome.
The car was re-painted once, in the original cream color and needs to be re-painted.
I was planning on stripping and painting this winter.

It starts easily and runs very well. Transmission works whines a little when it is cold but shifts just fine.
I had the A/C completely restored for new refrigerant (including re-built compressor) this past summer.

I was not planning on selling the car, but I lost my storage and will have to keep it in my garage this winter
after the paint shop is done with it. I have about $8K into it and would part with it for about that much -
until I spend the money for the paint job.

It would be no problem to drive this car to TN.
