I'm in need of a staple shifter for my '70 'GS'. My console is in perfect shape, however I don't have the shifter and plate to make it complete. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bob

Shifter handle for a 70 is not the same as the 71-72 but will interhange.

What is the difference? I did not know there was one. Does anyone have a 1970 staple shifter w/plate, I'm in need of one to complete my console.

The handle on a 70 has a brown woodgrain finish while the 71-72 insofar as I have seen were all solid black.

I think I have one for your car but I need to know if you car is a early 70 or late 70 as the shifter is different...there is a circuit board type thing on the early cars but later ones came without this as they then atatched them to the colum. I only have the shifter no cable. I have the black handle no extra wood style handles (not easy to come by)

Didn't 68-69 and early 70 have the nuetral saftey start switch on the shifter?
Is this the circuit board thing you are talking about?

Ryan, I like to have the complete staple shifter with 'PRNDL' plate. The black handlle is just fine. Call me for address info and price so I can send a check. Bob 215-990-3030
