itle pretty much says it all, I'm looking for a transmission to put in my wildcat. Its a 1965 with the 401V8 Nailhead, and I'm looking for a Transmission/bell housing combo that will fit this engine. Any referrals to vendors, ebay auctions, or friends, etc. would be appreciated! Contact info: AIM: xseacowx e-mail: mbifulco@gmail.com Thanks for any help!
Are you converting from Automatic? I'm in process of putting a Tremec 5-speed in a 65 Wildcat. Try to find a bellhousing for a 65-66 GS. Then you have a choice of many transmissions-T-10, Muncie...and they bolt right up to the GS bellhousing. I'll be using a billet flywheel -you can get them from Carmen Faso.(716-693-4090)Clutch assembly is pretty standard then- unlike the original Wildcat flywheel which is recessed; that requires a different pressure plate/clutch arrangement. Pedals and clutch linkage are the hard part after bellhousing.
That car reminds me of an original 4-speed car from Kansas-Blue /black top, black bucket custom interior...425 4-speed... Cool
I am actually converting from an automatic. Thanks for the help. Any possibility there is someone who makes an aftermarket bellhousing? I'm not really sure where to go to find one.
bendtsen's in Minnesota Do Not Go To EElco The hump has to be modified too. The muncies and t-10's have the linkage on the side, you will have to make room for that stuff. ou: Bendtsen

He was set up at the swap meet today at The Ball Park in Arlington (DFW Swap Meet) and I could have ask him if I had read this before today. Send him an email or give him a call and see if he knows the setup and see what he has in stock. He can probably tell you the availability of the bell housing. Karl
