thanks for going through the trouble but thats not the one. It's the "Skylark" script that goes on the grille that I need.
sorry sorry man i can't seem to locate the things. i just recently moved you know like 8 months ago. still haveing problems locateing things. i'll look in some of the boxes in the basment tomorrow (8/13/05) post you back when i find them.
Bill, The 1971 grille emblem says "Skylark by Buick." I'm not sure what the 1972 looks like. The 1970 just says, "Skylark" Clint I'm interested. I understand about not being able to locate things. I just went looking for the very nice 1971 grille emblem I could have swore I had but had no luck. I don't know what happened to that thing? I may have trashed it because it didn't have a backing plate? I have two of the 1970 emblems. One has some large pits and is only held onto the backing plate with one if the three rivets. My other one had pretty nice chrome but fell off the backing plate. I reattached it with JB weld but it only held for a few months. A couple days ago I drilled out the old rivets and brazed on three new ones. I then found that the three holes didn't match up in the backing plate. In an attempt to move one of the rivets, I was heating the emblem and it broke in half. I threw it in the trash in disgust. Today I pulled it out of the trash, brazed it back together and managed to get all the rivets secured. It looks OK from a distance but I still want a nice original if anyone has one.

andy found one emblem but is very loose on backing plate dont know if you would be interested. while cleaning it up i noticed it was terribbly loose. hate for you to get it put it on and then it fall off. chrome looks real nice though. let me know.
mine says skylark by buick on it a few small pits on it very nice shape though studs with the nuts are in good shape $20 shipped in the lower 48 if needed thanks Greg
1970 grille emblem Clint, Since there's some confusion in this thread about the correct emblem I posted a pic of the 1970 emblem. I want the one you have if the chrome is nice. I'll repair the studs. Just let me know the payment details. Thanks a ton for your help!

Got One! ebay is like a woman, can't live with it, can't live without it. My NOS emblem arrived today. The little things make me so happy :TU: Does anyone know for sure the proper way to use the two flat steel backing plates? I've only seen them mounted with one in the past.
I think you sandwich the grill between them......one on the back of the emblem and the other on the backside of the grill.....if I remember right :Brow:
Thats what I was thinking, then I remembered I have an assembly manual. I looked it up and it shows only the one plate at the rear of the grille. I'd like to hear or see evidence to the contrary. This car will never see a concours show as long as I have it but I get picky about silly things like this at times ou:
