    Ok, last question for today.
Can anybody out there decode my VIN tag and/or give me hint where I could find that information?

Model 58-53 (so it is a 58 model 53, which is a Super 4dr ht Riviera)
    Style 58-4539
Body No BT 2117 (looks like it is an early car, frame has 20-12-57 on it)
    Trim 511
    Paint SS (what is that?)
    Acc N1

    Thanks,
    Chris

Trim 511 = Blue Striped Cloth - Blue Cordaveen

Paint SS = cobalt blue top /cobalt blue body

Style 58-4539 = 1958 Super Series, Model 53, Riviera sedan

Body No BT 2117 = Arlington Plant of production with 2117 being the body number

    Further explanation;
58-53 is the Buick model I.D.

58-4539 is the GM model I.D. (of the same model)

In later years the Buick (and other brands) I.D. were eliminated and only the GM I.D.s were used.

Ok, here is the breakdown for 1957, I would guess this is the same for 1958. N is Air Conditioning & 1 is Safety Group - Dan

    Thank you all so much.
I think the 57 and 58 accessory codes might be the same since my car has A/C (still on R12 and ice cold) and upholstered dash and glovebox and the speed warning.
