This car has been my joy for the last nine or so years. It is now time to move on to other projects and new challenges. This car has 83,000 original miles, but is far from stock in many ways. All work has been professionally done and done to the highest standards using the best "stuff". Here are some of the details: Engine: Stock internally. TA Perf intake. Recurved distributor. Custom one off ram air system. Tuned on DynoJet Dyno locally. Red Line oil used exclusively. Trans: Pro built TH350. Shifts firm and quick, works excellent. Using stock shifter in console. Differential: Stock 3:42 Posi Chassis: Factory front and rear sway bars. 2" drop spindles, Poly bushings, powder coated stock A arms, 13" disc brakes front with 11.5" rear. Exhaust: 2.5" mandrel bend with X crossover and Flowmaster mufflers. Exits in stock location. Jet Hot coated Hooker Super Comp headers. Wheels: 17" with 245 series rear and 16" front. Interior: Stock and original with exception of small tach on A pillar and stereo head unit. Stereo: $3,000 high end audio system installed June 06' completely hidden except for head unit. Awesome quality sound. Car was featured in Hot Rod "Readers Rides" section Sept. 04' before some of the more recent work. Some members of the board are familiar with this car. There is more to tell, but we could do that in individual conversations. Car is Dark Metallic Blue which was the original color. Price is $14,500 and open to reasonable offers. At this time it is only being offered on the forum. I welcome inspection/test drive, etc. Would deliver in state only with the possible exception of Portland. Please ask questions on this forum or call me on my mobile at 206-898-2388.
I neglected to mention that the car is located in Everett, Washington just north of Seattle. Here are a coupl more photos....I will take additional this weekend.
The brakes are new from Satinless Steel Brake Company (SSBC) and have slotted and vented rotors. Car originally had manual drums. It was a low option car with the long console and bucket seats along with the rear window defrost fan as the only options. Car pulls 20+ mpg on the highway. NEVER overheats. It handles like crazy with almost no body roll. The paint is in good condition, but is getting worn a bit in a couple of places. The only thing that keeps this car from being a serious show winner is a show quality paint job. The sound of the exhaust system gives most men a **** on. Again, this is a very well balanced mix of performance looks and the fact it's a bit different than most muscle car projects. I will post photos of the brakes, chassis and other body angles this weekend. Feel free to ask questions.
To those who care, I have seen this car, and it is a very nice, clean car. Like Dan said, all the work done to it has been first class. Definitely one of the nicest 68/69 hardtops I have seen.
i seen it at the show also! chris's car was right behind this one, since i was hangin with chris for awhile next to his car,i found myself looking at this car over & over.like 6-7 times.i never climbed underneath it but it is very very nice.the color is outstanding, pics do it no justice.it was a magnet during the show(i think chris was jealous) i think it is WELL worth the money, hell 14k is 4dr econo-box money.good luck on the sale, someone will get a nice car :beer
Hello. When you post your photos this weekend, I'd love to see one of the trunk too. Thanks. Jim :bglasses:
68 /69 ? Hate to show my ignorance, but is it a 68 or 69? o No: ou: Whatever it is I love it! I suspect it looks even better in person! :TU:
I saw this car in Puyallup this year also. I agree with Chris completely. An extremely nice car I would be proud to own. Harvey
Jim, You should buy this car. It is a better color combo than the last two I told you about and you twidled your thumbs and didn't buy and missed out on, and is just as nice. Chris
Beautiful car, Deacon! I'm interested in getting some information on your air cleaner set-up. I plan on purchasing the same "Ram Air Box" system for my TA Perf. manifold/Quadrajet equipped 350 in my '72 Skylark, but I don't know which base and lid will fit under my hood. I understand that the two different generation Skylarks aren't exactly the same, but they may be very close. So, which part number base, housing and lid did you use? Thanks in advance,
Dan, I will look for the invoice to be able to tell you the specific part numbers. The box did have a drop down to the base but cleared all of the stock linkage. It is bolted to the TA intake and stock Quadrajet. I will try to have the info for you tomorrow night. Here is another pjoto of the completed air box. It was my first attempt at painting and color sanding, etc. It is the stock color code paint. Not to bad for a rookie. :Brow:
More photos As I promised, some more photos of the car. It was at a 600 car show at the Tulalip Casino north of Seattle and received 2nd place in the modified 60-69 GM class. That can be a bit tough with chevys and a couple of GTO's. Here you go and by the way the price is $13500. bottom line, no trades.....
Dan, what kind of power does thing put to the ground? You dyno'd it before didn't you? I am guessing a stock 68 350 is probably around 200 hp at the wheels?
Dyno With the tuning time on the dyno, including recurve of distributor (full advance in by 2500 rpm), re-jet on carb, etc it put 235hp at the rear wheels. That was before the ram air although that might be tough to test on the dyno? A stock 68 350 was supposed to have 190 rear wheel hp and an advertised 260 engine hp I believe. That is from some magazine stats from 68.
