#2 son has 3.3 olds acheva that is driving us nuts .To start with its always had a slight hesitation when stepped on .In his words it got slowly worse (over 2 Yrs) At this time we tried everything we could think of plugs& wires, checked sensors with meter as per haynes manual finally took it to the general & 800 later it was running not to bad the problem was the ignition module that the coil paks sat on . Now it ran not to bad but the slight hesitation was still there. About 3 months later the car was running on 5 the boy parked it &bought a jeep. Pulled the car into shop & found a bad plug , the ceramic that goes to the electrode (inside the threads) was gone when u looked at the plug from the bottom the bent piece was there and nothing else inside the plug threads. replaced the plug ,it fired up nice but no jam . Didnt get much farther as i got called to work (Ft Mac hi sean) and now the cars buried in the snow . Any way any thoughts ???? later bake

    Ever decabron the top end?

Was a common thing to do to them small hard working ecno engines.

GM sells a top end cleaner.

    efi cleaner isn't the same.

a top end cleaner is done by putting a vacuum line into the can and letting it suck it up straight with out stalling, don't let it stall during, expect tons n tons of smoke to billow out during and a short time after.

you can get seafoam from most parts stores n do the same thing.

So i would hook up this vacuum line up where on the intake ? or do u atomize the seafaom & shoot it in the intake. Later bake

Yep you hook it to one of the vacuum lines on the intake so it can suck it down raw.

Not saying it gonna cure everything but them small engine are carbon masters, carbon build up can cause all kinds of funky problems.

In the old day they did it by pouring a glass of cold water down the carb while it was running, no really. But I wouldn't suggest it for your app.

m/w, did i understand right? you brought it to the dealer and you were charged 800.00 dollars for a module and labor and it still does the same thing? you should of brought it back to them and told them it wasn't fixed.:Do No:

Clean the "fuzz" off of the Mass Air Flow sensor to help the hesitation.

Check for antifreeze getting into the cylinder with the porcelain missing on the plug.

Thanks guys while it was quite pricey to get fixed it ran not to bad & then about 4 mons later it started to act up again , i'm thinking this is where the plug nuked . in spring i'll maybe pull the head & see whats up with that cylinder that much porcelain has to do some thing nasty. Yes i used to do the dribble the water down the carb of my 68 SS impala (396) & it worked well .Also electrical has 90 days & thats it. Later bake

Just another thought could the reason the car is running crappy be that when the plug fragged that some pieces could have bent valves? will do a compresson test in the spring when snow melts off car . This was just a thought . Later Bake
