A friend of mine picked up a complete 455 a while back. It has a hydraulic cam(unknown specs) with solid lifters. It is an iron head motor with roller rockers. I was planning on setting the lash the same as my 308s. Is this the right thing to do with the hydraulic grind/solid lifter combo? Any comments or suggestions? Tuna
This has been known to be done I remember thinking about doing it myself and talked to a friend who told me to set the lash @ .005 to make the cam work right I am sure someone else will chime in. I think it was an old Stock Eliminator trick but with the new hyd lifters out this my be old school.
I had done this years ago when i blew a lifter I was told to lash it @ .007 and it never ran better...
Thanks for the replies! I'll go with .005-.007. Tuna ---------- Post added at 05:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:15 AM ---------- Thanks for the replies! I'll go with .005-.007. In the recent past, I've heard of the hydraulic cam with solid lifters combo refered to as a hybrid. People say you can get a little more power out of a hydraulic cam doing this. I've never tried it myself....... Dave
