finally got the heads back from the machine shop so i'm putting the top end together and the passenger valve cover won't fit due to the a/c box. theres no tranny in it so i'm having to guess the engines correct angle, anyone have this issue?

yup, i took the whole ac/heater box out. put in an AC delete box. but i ruined the heater guts in the process, so now i just have no heat at all... heh. i think there may be valve covers that make it, or modify the ones you have, just be sure not to get into rocker arm clearence issues, or warp the gasket surface of the cover so it won't seal. It's a big motor, into a car that had a little baby in it.

do you have a 350 or a big block going together? i had the issues with a big block... i wouldn't think it'd be as tight with the small block... ?

its a 350, it doesnt seem to need much to fit, just the corner of the cover. my buddies sbc has like 2 inches of clearence back there:rant:

With no transmission in it the motor will be tilted back a little . On my car I have to work with the cover to get it off and on , but it can be done without pulling the AC box .

I just smash a hole in the ac box. Presto, valve cover drops right on.
