What are you guys doing for vaccum pumps. At least those of you not using a peterson oil/vaccum pumps.

I need to adapt a VP or Moroso crank driven pump. I use BBC crank pulleys and mandrel. Just not sure about which brackets to start with. Perhaps Big chevy with a custom plate behind it handing from the drivers head.

I'm running the Stainless Steel Brake Corporation pump.
    Noisy but works really well.

I think Dave is asking about belt driven crankcase evacuation pumps.

Still has the "universal mounting bracket". I don't think anyone builds a specific kit to actualy "fit" the 455 Buick. Plus, I used to build my crank mandrels like they build them. I now have Peterson build my Buick mandrels to my spec's. They are the best! With the spline drive you can easily turn the engine over manually. My old style and the Tin Indian ones don't work that way, they just keep tightening the center bolt that holds it together. You can still use it to turn over the engine, but the center bolt gets way too tight! Also you're only driving the pulley by a small key and keyway. They have a tendency to roll over given enough time. The "spline" is tough to beat!

Other than that their kits look good!

Thanks for the info, Steve! Does your mandrel design only fit the buick dampener? I have the ATI which has a chevy pulley bolt pattern. I just take BBC pulleys and machine off the rear lip and punch out the center hole. I do have the TA cover but not the Peterson pump.

Whatever I figure out on my motor I plan on getting Greg and Emersons Blower motors outfitted. They can't even enjoy their ride without oil pouring out of every seal. To much air being pushed into the crankcase.

I think they both have buick pattern dampeners. I have the odd ball ATI hub.

What I thought could work was a kit like the Tin Indian with a custom made mounting plate. The problem is that I'd like something on the Drivers side while Greg has a blower mounted in that location and Emerson has a big Jimmy setting on top with a big idler pulley. Each may be a custom mount.

Now that I've been thinking about the various motors, I don't see why I couldn't live with something below the altenator.
