I have 71 8.5.1 engine and was wondering if I can use 3.0 flat top pistons to net 9.8.1 or more with using a .045 head gasket and with out milling the block.

Hi, I am trying to remember the ratio it gives but I think 10:1 to 11:1 is possible depending on head cc and deck height. Can you be certain the heads and block have never been milled,
    ?

  3. I have them in mine. I can't remember how far they sit in the hole but at the time I put it together I had all the info and the engine ended up at 9.6 compression. Everything is stock. Heads not milled and engine not decked.
