I am doing some clean up and have some extra books to sell. $10 - 15 each. Email or PM me if you are interested. Thanks, Joel hemi67gtx@yahoo.com
Those are all car books! I was hoping you had a November 1966 issue of Minnesota Ice Fishing Monthly. They did a nice write-up on Lutefisk tips and tricks!:Brow:
Winter must be really tough in MI this year. I think Franks' going mad. BTW, didn't you used to live in MN?
Frank, I already gave you the only Lutefisk book that I could stand to part with.:ball: If I had put that book up for sale, it would start a stampeed of Norweigan church ladies.:eek2:
I was watching a show on Discovery or something like that about a week ago, and they did a segment on the preparation, etc. for Lutefisk. Joel, you'll be happy to know that as soon as I saw that in the description of the show, I immediately thought of you. How's THAT for word association ? Lutefisk - GTXJoel ...... GTXJoel - Lutefisk
Hey Darren: Nope. I'm from Germany, I'm not a Norweigan. They wouldn't accept my passport at the MN border.......:beer . I wonder if I can fit NOT A NORWEIGAN on my liscense plate instead of NOT A G.T.O. ??
Now there's a visual..........uzzled: Isn't that what you wacky Norweigans do for fun in the winter?? Stampede the church ladies for fun until the lakes freeze in October??? Lutefisk: Minnesota's other white meat.
You can take my cars, You can take my wife, You may even be able to get my lutefisk. But you will have to pry my Ann Coulter books from my cold dead fingers!
YUP, YUP, YUP!!!!!!!!! I gave up beer a coupla months ago, but also would never give up my Ann Coulter books and subscribe to her website. Her weekly editorials are hilarious. I keep her books in the same bookcase right alongside the Rush Limbaugh books, Dick Morris Books, Barbara Olson book, and the latest is Timothy Carney (The Big Ripoff; How Big Business and Big Government Steal Your Money). This last one is very enlightening and required reading for anyone who is brainwashed into thinking that big government is the problem, or the other side who think Big Business is the problem. This very well documented book is full of backup facts and is undisputed by detractors on both sides. Hard to argue with facts......like Archer Daniels Midland with E85, and Enron with the Kobe pact, Phillip Morris with the anti smoking campaign and huge settlements with government, etc. The Barbara Olson book, "Final Days" was published by her husband and friends after she was killed in one of the 9/11 planes (Pentagon one, I think). It details the final days of the Clinton White House to the nth degree with regard to all the pardons, removed "gifts" and other chicanery that went out under the radar. Must reading for everybody with the high possibility of them moving back in. Just so you know who you're voting for. This one also is totally backed up with facts that are unchallenged, even if very strong attempts were made to keep this book from ever being published. OOPS, sorry......the old Southern Democrat in me is surfacing again. "Down, boy!, down boy!" :bglasses:
damn boll weevils. ya know, if the enviro's hadn't outlawed DDT we'd have taken care of you guys by now. itn't funny how leftists always manage to enact policies that come back and bite them in the @$$ later.
whoa Diega, back that truck up. i was jokin about "Boll Weevil Democrats". and besides, you shouldn't believe everything ( anything? ) that enviro whackos like Rachel Carson spew. people used to take DDT showers. here in the States. the majority of case studies shows NO link between DDT exposure and cancer incidence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ddt
Well, from books for sale to lutefisk recipes to politics, I guess all this thread needs is an Oldsmoblie photo to make it the complete package! p
You should look at your Wiki link again. DDT is not quite safe. didn't say, nor did i imply that it was 'safe'. it is an extremely ( perhaps the most? ) effective bug killer after all. i'd no more shower with DDT than i would stay in a house that i'd just set off a roach bomb in. that's beside the point. you repeated a scientifically unsupported ( practically disproven ) canard against DDT. when the choice is between malaria, West Nile or hundreds of other mosquito born viruses with extremely high mortallity rates tomorrow and a vague unsupported accusation of possible carcinogenic effects that may be possible scores of years down the line some might consider a knee jerk blanket banning somewhat foolish. or maybe that's just me. I guess all this thread needs is an Oldsmoblie photo to make it the complete package! off of a 61-63 215?
I don't think banning the item was anything related to knee-jerk. I think there's been enough technology where we don't need DDT anymore. Interestingly enough, my original post was after reading the wiki site. I had merely repeated the cancer allegations from the beginning of the article without reading the whole thing.
Someone needs to talk to several chemical companies that DDT is not a necessary product. I don't have the production numbers, but I can tell you that plenty of it is being used in third world countries. There are several insecticides that work as well as DDT, just more expensive.
