I have a 65,66 astro blue convertible top boot. The guy (original owner) I bought the car from said it was the original boot that came with it new. It's got snaps. I don't think I ever saw factory Buick mid 60s, with snaps, but I have been surprised on other things I have found that were factory. Only the four snaps on the leading edge of the frame hinge wells the rest being 16 spring steel clips. (not trying to wee on your listing, only hoping to clarify for anyone interested)
Michael, the 66 convertible I re-done had the chrome strips with the snaps. The chrome strips that came with it did not have the chrome on the body at the rear qtr. window so I had a 66 convertible parts car that the full length chrome with the clips and I used that. I was only going by what the guy told me and he said he got it brand new for his graduation present. Now I am not sure if he was being honest with me or not. I do know that I have never seen one with snaps but like you said, I have also been surprised at what I have found too. Thank you for the information , les
