Hi, I wanted to know if there is a clip or something holding the upper hand of the upper rubber shifter boots to the Hurst shifter??? Thanks. Marc
No, I was wondering if there is one on the top end of the upper rubber boots. Am talking about the boots that you see in the car, this boots is held on the consolette by the 2 extremely rare 3 pins RINGS (one metal /black and one that you see CHROME), well im talking about the upper end of the boots, is it holding on the chrome Hurst shifter with a clip or something, or is it just loose, or wrap tight around the shifter?? I know theres lots of pictures of the shifter in car on here, but you can never really see if theres a clip or something holding the boots..... Thanks..
Nope, no clips on the chrome handle. The chrome handle just fits through the hole in the center of the boot.
The handle fits through the hole in the center of the boot. I just replace mine as part of my interior/dash refresh project. The center hole was VERY small compared to the shifter handle, but it will fit tightly. If yours is loose then it may have been trimmed too much and does not sound correct....
