Back in 1974 a quad black Challenger Rallye 360 (slap-stick, 3.55) left Stu's Dodge dealership in Fairmount City, PA and never traversed very far. The original owner ended up wrecking his pride & joy within a short period of time and the car was sent to a salvage yard. It was there that my cousin found, bought and repaired it. It served as his summer car while he attended Motech school. He worked at his family's dealership, Venus Motors, a Chrysler/Plymouth dealership in Venus, PA. It was sitting in the dealership when I first saw and lusted after it while growing up. In June of 1984 I bought it as a graduation gift to myself, the car having just gone 32,000k in 10 years. It cost me $3500.00 back then. It hasn't gone many more miles since I've had it, now showing just over 35k. It brought 3 of my 4 kids home from the hospital and served me as my Factory Stock racer in the past. Fast forward to just a couple weeks ago when I stopped by Nolf C/D/J in Fairmount City (yep, Stu's old dealership) to tell one of my friends, Jason, who works there about a '49 Plymouth I know of. The owner of Nolf's, Randy Nolf, had Jason take me to show what they had just received, a triple black '08 Challenger (how's that for coincidence). I suggested we get a photo shoot done with the 2 cars and it happened just a couple of hours ago. Great Story! I'll take the one on the left. Can I get it for the original sticker price?? I won't even haggle! :beer :beer
I think it's because I'm not a member on that board.... therefore I don't know the secret handshake.
Lon, You posted that in the GENERAL B.S. section on Moparts. You have to (1) be a member and (2) logged in for that forum to display. :error: :error:
Yeah, if you go to the main index without being logged in, the GENERAL forum doesn't even appear! Love those photos of the old Challenger and the new. :kodak: The new one looks like a sleeker version of the 300-C to me. It is the ~zaftig~ cousin to your Challenger!!
I've seen several TRUCK loads of the new Challengers being shipped to dealers in the past couple of weeks. Nice pics of the old and new versions.:TU:
