Sorry, meant #55. Would some of you guys with Turquoise Mist Poly #55 paint please post some pics of your cars? I'm thinking about going that color but I would like to see a couple. I've seen pics of Ken's and if that is truely the color, it's beautiful. Thanks in advance everyone. Hopefully going under the gun in two weeks. Gary
Diplomat blue is a good color too.:TU: Wenatchee huh,i get there once in awhile,i'll keep an eye out!:bglasses:
Isn't that the same color as aqua mist? I am painting mine aqua mist this Spring. BTW, where are the pics of Ken's car? Photo of members Lark.
My favorite color!, Mines just not a good example. Come on Ken show that thing off! http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=183386
Aw shux. Thanks for the compliment Rich. Now if I can find a nice front bumper for a reasonable price that has not been corkscrewed I'll be in business. Anyway, my original car color was Crystal Blue but I really love the Turquoise and since it is a correct color for that year I went with it. Some day when I have the time to sit and scan pics and write my story of the resto (I have old pics from the mid 80's of the car too) I will post it here. I know when other people do that I really enjoy the before and after pics. I actually do not know of any other year Buick that this exact color was offered, even under a different name. There were some similar though, but not the same, that I know of. In 70 there was a Stratomist Blue and a Diplomat Blue, but they are not really close when you put them side by side.
Ken, the pics of your car have got me sold, I sure hope it (#55) comes out the same as yours. I am going that way, but I told my wife, even if it does have a slight green hue, it probably will be okay anyway. I just can't see where they'd call it "Turquoise" without some green in it. I'll post pics as soon as it's painted, hopefully in a couple weeks. Gary
In the right light it does have the greenish hue, very slight. If you want to pay the postage, I can send you a piece of my orginal car, inside trunk lid, which looks perfect. Just PM me. I plan on keeping a piece for reference.:beer
My guy went by the 69 swatch. If you don't have one you should get one. I know they are available online. If mine is a hue or 2 off, who knows? If someone came in hung over on Monday in 69 and mixed the paint wrong, they could have come off the line that way too. Either way, if yours does not come out "exactly" the same, I am confident you will love it. I can tell you this, if you are at all partial to this type of blue, you can stare at that color all day and not get tired of it. Why do you think God made the sky blue?? :idea2: p Take Rich up on the sample offer. Probably a good idea. I would bet that Rich's car might be more accurate if it's a good clean sample. Mine in the right light has a hint of green to it. I've had people make those comments. It seems to be even more noticeable in Rich's car in his avatar, too.
I have the paint chip from 69, but the underside of the trunk is perfect paint, nice to have a good sample bigger then 1"X2". Your car looks great!
What is the difference between turquise mist and aqua mist? I just thought they kept the same color but renamed it. Kens car looks more blue than turquioise. What was the blue color for '69? I'm all cornfused now!
