Turbo 455 skymaro VS 40 Ford with a 302

Not a kill story yet.

Friend of mine at the cruz in tonight in a 40's ford with a stoker 302 say's he is going to put the skymaro to shame friday 13th at the friday night drags. Says his car gets to 100 mph in 1 block. Says, he doesn't care if my car is turbo charged:Brow: he has two 4 barrels. I will be running slicks. He said he is going to run street tires but it will be OK because he has a posiou:. I thought maybe I would put the smack down on him with the slow ugly (12.80 1/4 mile)NA bracket car before embarrassing him with the skymaro:spank:. He say's he is only going to run twice then take it home "that is all he will need". What I normally do when a member of the cruzer crowd says they are coming to the track show me what their brand X will do to my poor buicks is I let them run a slower car first and then pull up into the lanes that have no one next to me and let them decide if they still want to prove their point. For some reason they never seem to be able to line up against me. What do you think be nice or let him have it? I know that I don't have the fastest cars on the planet but the cruzer crowd typically has no clue as to what is fast and what isn't.

 

I would play scared, but that's my style. You say he's a friend so have fun and don't let this hurt your friendship.
My favorite part is the dual quads part, he has got to be hurting performance with 331ci. And the posi think is funny too.
That made me lol.

 

The play scared would be good to make him feel better. I may do that. I think the best his car will do is a 9.50 at our 1/8 mile track. My 72 lark runs 8.40 but the skymaro ran 7.70's on 4 psi of boost now it should run low 7's on 9 psi. maybe I should just run him with 72 and launch softly until he gets traction then chase him down.

 

I would run him against the Skymaro first!!
Spank him good, then offer him a chance to get even against your "slow" car.

That way you might get to stomp him twice!

Don't expect him to tell you how great your car is, he will probably never say a word about how fast his or your car is again.

 

BLOW HIM AWAY. ALL OUT.

Then listen to his excuses why his car wasn't running right tonight. And he will always have an excuse why he can't run you ever again. They will be funny, so post them here. These guys are all alike.

Well, he seems to be the one barking up the wrong tree here.

If you can't make a friendly wager dollar: ), and just discreetly "play with him" to stay ahead at the stripe and take the wager, then so be it.
If no dollar: ) available or wanted in this situation, my opinion is to spank him good, :spank:
...and tromp on the gas pedal as you "carry him" across the finish line and drag him thru the 1/4....... :beers2:

X3. I wouldn't say a word except to tell him to name the time and place and you will show up. At that point I wouldn't hold back a bit, just get to the line let him have it. No words need to be spoken, the timeslips will do all the talking.

I will. So If I understand everyone take him on first with the skymaro then hit him with the slow car. Man you guys are ruthless.

 

I wouldn't give him an inch because he doesn't sound like the kinda guy that would do it for you!!!! Put him back on his trailer after just one run.

 

I think I would run your car all out. It seems he called you out and blabbed about how fast his car is. He most likely won't learn any lessons but it seems like he has asked you to bring your best. Any less may leaving him think he actually had a chance. If I am running someone, I expect them to give it everything. Then you can also show him your other cars still has enough to put the hammer down too. He most likely won't call you out again.

40 ford what is it a tank .....he is just getting you worked up .. pushing your buttons bet he doesnt even run his car but if he does make sure he gets this view :moonu:

 

Since he's a friend, make a friendly wager like dinner on the loser instead of cash ... then pound him on the first run.

... Sitting across from you at the table while you gloat and he back-pedals for an hour+ during the meal will be priceless

Don't get me wrong guys I have been thinking of what I should do that will hurt the most for him to loos. It's just all the other racers are telling me to quit being a bully. I have been telling them that if he runs his mouth then it is my job to put his foot in it for him.
