ttt and bump

been on forums for a while but these terms elude me, help please. Is there a glossary I'm missing somewhere?

 

Both are simply a tool used by a member to "bump" their own thread back to the top of the search function that displays new posts.

 

So it really means nothing. I thought it was some magic I was missing. thanks.
