Rigged up my old distributor with a bit welded to the top, inserted it fine into the hole, put a drill motor on it and it won't spin for sh1t. WTH :(

Don't feel bad I spent a whole Saturday afternoon trying to figure out why my brake lights wouldn't work on my '65. Turns out the key has to be in the on position for the brake lights to work on a '65. I didn't feel to smart after that.

With enough torque I figure it would have sheared the pin before the gears got hurt.

The 1/2" drill I have would have sheared the pin or an arm!

Here's one, a few weeks ago completely assembled my new 455 on the engine stand, painted and ready for install. Moved some parts around on the shelf, saw the oil slinger staring at me. What an idiot!

On the same subject, I had an 455 sitting on the garage floor, bought it for parts. The oil filer had been all dented and squat from leaning against it on the floor.

I decided I was gonna test a oil priming tool I made from an old distributor, and when I started to prime, the oil filter blew up like a baloon to its original shape! LOL

I never realized that much pressure went though it. Of course It did have pin holes in it from the kinks and spayed oil over about a 5 ft radius around me until the pressure was gone. :spank:

We had a guy in our old car club decide to clean his gas tank out using his wife's tank style vacuum cleaner. Do I need to say more? She wound up with a new vacuum after he cleaned up the shrapnel.

in high school i had a 57 chevy 350 2x4 4speed 4.11:bglasses: . i could race:3gears: it all night till sunup on the weekends and the car stayed on about 195-210 degrees. but each morning when i drove it to school it would be very overheated from the normal drive of 3 miles on the highway.

for the longest time i couldnt figure out why.....:af:

I fully dissasembled and rebuilt a 455 in my...... living room! (I was single then and the land lord was pissed) Complete engine all painetd and purtty sitting there on the stand. Then I started to think about how I was going to get it outside to the driveway to set it in the car. :idea2: Oops. Shouldda thought about that Bfore I put it together. Long story cut short.... me and some buddys worked it out to the edge of the front door, called a wrecker with an extendable boom. he backed up to the front of the house, stuck the boom inside the door and picked up the engine and set her in the Riv. Best 45.00 I had spent to date.
