Trunk filler panel

Discussion in 'The ragtop shop' started by TooManyProjects, Feb 27, 2008.

  1. Does anyone know if a Chevelle trunk filler panel for a 70-72 will fit a Skylark? They look close, but I haven't been able to see them in person, side by side.

Jim, it can be used with Chevelle back glass and chrome trim . The difference is that the Chevelle is straight across the bottom and the Buick is convex. I understand that a well known Show car that does very well at BG has this part installed and no one has noticed it except the judge that told me about it. HUmm I wonder which car it is.

um i'm assuming this is for a convertible as it's in the convertible section. it's not convex and the glass and SS trim is the same on the vert.

Could be. I was thinking hardtop and the debates we have had over the same piece interchanging for those. Never occurred to me convert might be different. Should have though. I would ask George N. to address this as he has done a few of these.

Convert would be the same. I didn't even notice this is the ragtop section dooah !

  7. I apologize for not being clearer in my question. I think the last posting says a Chevelle trunk filler for a convertible will fit a Skylark convertible - or did I misread? Thanks

The answer I got back from George is that a convert is the same but a hardtop is not.
