    I INSTALLED A 1" SPACER AND WITH MY 70 GS HOOD THE CARB IS SO CLOSE TO THE HOOD, I WONDER IF IT IS GOING TO BREATH?

    (NOTE )I RACE WITH NO AIR CLEANER

    If you want or need the spacer, hole in hood (Skylark, that is!) and Stage 2 scoop.....

    Then the only option I know does not include a spacer, and uses a 2" drop-base aircleaner with a 3" filter. I wanted to use a spacer REALLY BAD! I still do. But I also want to run at LEAST a 3" filter, and there just is not enough room on my car![IMG]

    Some other ways to gain clearance are: cutting the underhood support braces out of the way, tipping the back end of the hood up a little, using less than 3" filter.

    Personally, I feel that airflow into the carb will be restricted and disturbed running SO close to the hood. I decided that any possible HP gains from a spacer could wait for my new fiberglass Skylark hood w/ Stage 2 scoop. I'll save the GS hood of course! THEN, I can run whatever spacer and airfilter I want, AND have RAM AIR!!

    No help, am I!:Do No::Dou:
