Did Buick ever have the kick down cable bracket to attach to the carb linkage instead of the gas pedal? It would have provisions probably for the trans cable and the throttle cable. I have 68 and it doesn't have the hole for the cable and I want to find a bracket (if such a thing exists) for a clean installation. It's a 2 bbl carb (for now?).

    thanks

I don't know about '68, but in '67 the detent (downshift) was controlled electrically by a plunger switch beside the carburetor. The ST300 and ST400 transmissions don't rely on a cable for detent.

Sorry, I should have added that it's a Buick 69 350/th350 combo going in my 68 that I had a Olds 350/th350 combo in. The Olds has a bracket on the carb to hold the cables, but I don't think it will fit the 2bbl. I need to replicate this on the Buick as a 68 doesn't have the hole in the firewall to put the cable through and I don't want to try and replicate that.

Can't help you there. The TH350 detent cable will need an attachment to your throttle linkage one way or another. Maybe someone else will chime in.
