    Hello,

I have my TH400 setting on the shop floor so I can pull the engine for a new short block. While the trans is out I'd like to address two issues that I'm having. FYI it's out of a 68 Chevelle, has a Coan reverse manuel valve body/brake and has a big sprag. The tranny only has about 25 passes on it since being rebuilt. I bought the tranny used but fresh so there is no chance of taking back to the builder. Everything works really good except:

    1. It will not go into Park. Even if I unhook the shifter and place the lever all the way up, you can still push the car.

    2. After about 10 passes the trans brake started sticking. It would hold just fine but when you let go of the button the car just sits. The selinoid seems to work fine but the when you push the valve deep into the valve body it hangs up and you need a set of neddle nose to get it back out. What can I do to get this thing working right? Just clean up the casting in the valve body? Get a new valve? Maybe both?

Thanks for any words of wisdom.

    gotbuick What, me worry?

    Shayne,

See if you can get ahold of Chris (buicksstage1). He runs a tranny shop up north. He set up a killer TH400 w/transbrake for me. I'm just about positive he can help you. :TU:
