    Tranny Switch

I'm looking to change the transmission in my 66. It has a 3 stick in the floor, and I want to put an automatic on the column. It already has the place to put a shifter on the column, and I don't know if it still has the linkage. What would be the best kind of transmission to put in it? And what do I need to get to change to an automatic?

The tranny to use is the TH400. Since this is a pick 'em up truck and might just get used to haul stuff. Other options are: TH350, TH350 metric, TH200R4, TH700R4. The last two are overdrive, will need some set up work to adjust the TV cable correctly.

Chris, you have a 66 wildcat, with a 3-speed floor mounted , manual transmission? If you are running a 401/425, I would swap you a low mileage 66 st400 (3 spd switch pitch auto). I have the flex plate/flywheel and converter. If you want to part with all the manual stuff.
