Herb, I'm sure you can probably break an M-22 but it would be pretty hard!!

The richmond five speed will probably hold up o it . I have the nash in mine and it is solid as a rock. If you are really gonna hammer it with any kind of tire dont waste your time on an m 22. just my .02

One thing I'll say I don't like about the M-22 is that it's loud and crude. If you want a 4 speed it should do for most folks. That said..I'd rather have a healthy 5 speed :Brow:

I have broken a doug nash 5 speed but many others have as well. How does the richmond compare to the nash?

I have one of these tranny's and it's supposed to be able to take the abuse. With the $2k price tag it should.

The Tremec TKO 600 is rated for 600 ft-lbs.

    Nash strength

The truth is ,you can break anything. My nash is the straight cut gear race version. The Richmond is an evolution but I cant say that its stronger than mine because its apples and oranges. I will be switching to the richmond soon because now I have no speedo housing and thus no speedo. I guess I will find out if its stonger or not .
My point was that if you want something that will bolt in like a muncie with no adapters , no different holes in the floor then the richmond is hard to beat. By the time you get the aftermarket case and gears for the muncie your about at the same money but you dont have to build it or get it built by someone else. You take it out of the crate, get a driveshaft built, fill it with fluid and go.
My Nash has the big Chrysler spline front and rear (stronger) 3.25 first gear and whines like a Cup car. Truly a fun car to drive .

I'll really have no use for it so yes. It will be the end of Feb before I make the swap. The car is currently in the bodyshop. The tags are going to die in March and I have to re-register and re-inspect by then.
Contact me off list if you would truly be interested.

NOT true! :spank: I've blown up 3 M22's... They are stout to be sure, but they will go under the right (umm wrong) surcumstances.

Just waiting to find out how much I have to hack up my floor to install the tko 600. This tranny is the best bang for the buck and will hold up to the stage 2 motor I am building. Anyone have any experience with this trans????
