    Hey Friends,

In the midst of the passing of Ken's father, I also have some sad news to tell. One of the members of one of our sister congregations was killed in a car accident early Wednesday morning. He had just picked up some friends from work and was on his way to dropping them off at home. A drunk driver collided with the car on the highway and killed brother Iven Johnson instantly. The amazing part is, being a former driving instructor, Iven sacrificed his own safety for that of his passengers as he swerved the car so that he would take the brunt of the collision.

He will be missed, as the funeral home was packed solid this afternoon. However, there is some good from this story. Members from the congregation are now studying the Gospel with one of the passengers as she tries to piece together what has happened in her life. Please pray that she will accept the message!

I know were he is now! I'll pray for the passengers and his family tomorrow.

    John 15

12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.

No doubt about it Glen....that was a sacrifice on Iven's part!! Doesn't sound like any doubt about where he is now either!!

Just goes to show you.....you'd better be ready NOW to meet your Maker!!! Might not get that extra chance. Thankfully, the passengers will get that extra chance - here's hoping & praying they take advantage of it!!

I'll keep all involved in my prayers.:)

Thanks for the prayers, guys! I haven't heard any news on the passengers, but I'm praying that all is going well, too! :) I'm certain also that Iven is praising God for eternity at this moment!

It's funny you should quote that Scripture, Scott... we've actually just finished studying that at Wednesday evening bible study! :) Thanks!
