We WERE looking for an International Scout or a '73-87 Chevy pickup. Everybody says "Scout??? Get a Jeep" He wanted a Scout. My WIFE (first mistake) looks for a Jeep. Finds this one in August of '13 for $4300. Unimpressive, base model with a smashed rear glass. We take it for a ride. Oil pressure drops to ZERO!!! Take it back and walk away. 16 yr old pouts, even though he hates Jeeps ("Everybody has one" he says). Typical 16 yr old hates it till he gets behind the wheel, then loves it till the newness wears off. So we go looking for another Jeep. As we are looking, the wife starts in "He says it's probably an oil pump. My brother says it's an oil pump. JUST GET IT!!" Nags me to the point where I give in to prove a point. Fast forward to today: Found my son (who now hates the Jeep) a '79 C 20 this week. So after $4300 for this Jeep, plus replacing the motor (seller bought for me, I installed), new clutch, throwout bearing, pressure plate, front calipers and pads, new back window, and $300 in stereo and speakers, I'm about $5800 into a $4000 Jeep. Long story short. Anybody want to buy, or trade a Buick for it (or have a Scout or know of a Scout for trade)??? If not, I hope you enjoyed the story.
