    Hi,

I'm just finishing a 75 LeSabre convertable and have discovered the worm gear in the passenger side gearbox is rounded where the square cable goes in. I have found the entire rebuilt gearbox online, but was hoping to find just the worm gear, any thoughts??

    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

Will have to come from a parts car...easier to just swap the gear box.....all 71-76 will share the same gearbox.

    George,

Thanks. Do you have a gearbox by chance?

No, I don't have one but can check the local yards when I go next Friday....if you are in a rush, check Ebay or contact Bruno at Convertible Top Specialities here in FL...he has all kinds of conv top parts.

    George,

He has one for around 235 - a bit more than I want to spend. If you are out and about on Friday, please look for one. I also need a headlight bucket, outer drivers side (it's round). We don't have any older yards in Vero Beach. If you find anything, please refer me to the yard.

You should add your city and state to your header bar info...in the future, members will ask for your location.

    Email me direct at GStage1@BuickPerformance.com

I need your model and year so when I visit the local u-pull-it yards....I can match the parts.

I don't know how far Vero Beach is from Daytona...but LKQ has a U-pull-it there and may be a worth a try and see what is in there....it is a fairly large size yard.

those gears usually get stripped from people putting the top up and down (manually)with out the electric motor doing it.
that worm aint got a chance against the force.

i may have a good complete unit ...i will check.
