I'm doing a frame off restoration on a 68 GS400 4spd conv and on the trim tag the exterior color is listed as "R2". I know that R is Scarlet Red, but what does the 2 indicate? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Gil Bourcier Indian Springs Restorations Frederick, MD Current projects: 68 GS400 Conv. 4spd 69 Riviera GS
On the 1970 Buicks, a "2" on the body tag of a convertible meant a BLACK top. I suspect that 68 is the same. (This is not the case in earlier years: on a 1960 Buick convertible, "2" is for a GRAY top; "1" was for BLACK.)
hey 70 electra, your links aren't working, fwi......i'm gonna do a little copy paste to check out the rides though! i checked them out....i've come across those pages on the net before.....beautiful rides, man :TU: josh
wheelie dog, Thanks for the kind words! I dig your blue drop top, too! Hope to see it again this summer. I appreciate the heads up on the dead links ou: ...I'll try to fix 'em. (I'm still learning to manipulate all the bells and whistles on this site!)
