I have a Fire Red with White vinyl roof, would it be "Factory Correct" to add GS badgeing and a rear spoiler? I just haven't seen a "GS" with a Vinyl top.

There were certainly GS's with a vinyl top and rear spoiler. The look is all up to you. In my own opinion, I would not add a rear spoiler unless I had a GS hood though.

I had a GS hood along with the ram air air cleaner and had a spastic major brain fart and sold it.....ugh :-(

Best approach is do what you want your car to look like!

If it was me, if its a skylark keep it a skylark, no GS emblems or rear spoiler.

Now what I would do if I had a skylark, add a 455 BBB in it and make it a sleeper! If you have a GS hood that ok to add it too but I would rather add a Stage 2 hood scoop.

I'm really torn, my Skylark is a ONE owner all #'s matching (350), LITTLE OLD LADY owned with bucket seats and floor shift. Part of me wants to just restore it, the other part of me wants to hotrod it out with a 455. I do like the idea of a sleeper, after I got stupid and sold off the hi-po parts.
Thanks guys for all your input. At the moment, just getting it back on the road is the main priority.

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

Just get the car back on the road and enjoy it for a little bit before you start making plans to far ahead.
Post up some pics of all around your car and people will give you there opinion on what you should do next
I personally like to add duel exhaust, nice set of 15" rally wheels and a new set of white letter tires to all the cars
I start with. From there I like to do interior seats so I can get comfy... LOL

Personally I don't like any GS or Skylark with a vinyl top to have a rear spoiler it just does not look right to me BUT its your car

Keep in mind that being a 350 powered Non GS Skylark it is never going to be worth a ton of money. You might as well do it exactly how you want it and not worry what others think.

debo1970 a member here has my Dad's (his grandfather's) 1970 Skylark 350 automatic. He has made several changes but is carefully storing the original parts. I don't think his Grandpa would mind he was a gear head also. Anyway it is something to think about if you think you might want to go back to original.

Your right Ryan, I never have liked a spoiler on a vinyl top car, and I'm really leaning toward just a full original resto. Have been gathering parts for a year and a half, just like a squirrel gathering nuts for the winter... I have another 71', maybe I will hotrod that one some day and keep the #'s matching all original. Too much for this little brain of mine to think about !!
    Thanks guys for you input.

I would like said, drop in a 455, add the Stage 2 Scoop, and get dog dish hub caps and make the ultimate sleeper:bglasses:

It will never be factory correct with a spoiler which only was avaialble on a GSX in 70. But it is a free country for now anyway.

Agree. 100%, It's pretty much what I've done to my '69 Skylark. But it's up to you, either way, they're meant to be enjoyed.
