I know its not a Buick Kill, but sweet anyway........ Dad lives in Detroit, Has 04 Nissan titan crewcab 4x4, has one of those "You Got A Hemi" laughing stickers on rear window. My Dad is 67...was at a light in Shelby Twp.......young guys in booger green ram pull up , made some rice comment to my dad, and tried to get him to race. He gave the guys thumbs up...lets go! All he has is K&N FIPK & Banks Exhaust............& 33'' tires! Said he smoked that Hemi all the way to 80mph......BAD! HE SAID AT 50 mph....HE WAS AT LEAST 4 TRUCK LENGTHS AHEAD! AND THE DISTANCE KEPT GROWING! WHAT A WAY TO BE RETIRED! YOU GO DAD! :3gears:
If only the Titan's didn't look so disproportionate. The mechanics are all there to make one incredible truck (and really, it is, I jsut think they're kind of ugly, but thats personal preference)
He uses it to tow his 38 foot trailer........never been to the dealer once in 40,000 miles. My buddys new 05' F150 has about 12,000 on it, and it lives at dealer, more than his house! 3rd tranny!!! and various other probs. Titan is kinda funky looking .....but FAST and reliable!
yes they are bad, those vq56 or whatever the code of the engine is are badass, now if only the nissan people coujld design something nice...
no I just forgot to mention that the Ram was 2WD, all decals and a wing, looked like a green booger......and Titan had 2 extra doors and 4WD...... and obviously beat the pants off that Rumble Bee!!!!!!! Hemi's arn't true hemi's anymore......just a marketing name! Look at the new Charger.......ugliest POS I've ever seen......I guess if the kid spent the extra 30K on the SRT10 ram....it would have been a different story! But for $30K I'm sure The Titan could be made to smoke that too! They may have a Japanese truck Name......Made right here in Tennessee, designed in farmington hills Michigan.......Makes it a Made In USA to me? IMHO.........
I have a Tacoma and I'll say this....I would rather walk than buy an over priced GM,Ford,or Dodge.100,000 miles and never been apart....I towed several GS and Skylark cars home on a tow dolly behind it,and its a 3.4...I bought my Tacoma with less mileage on it and for 5000 less than a similar year Chevy.
st10 is 50k ........and you can haul a golf bag whats the pint just by a vette or viper.......or a one of the new shelbys that is comming out and save 12k as for for the almighty hemi.........they have been smoke by little gm 4.8s :Brow: as for reliabilty had itsince 01 has never been back to the dealer and i have only fixed one a thing a 40$ sill on the transfer case.......rolling up on 90k too have a cousin who builds toyotas had 1 and refuses to buy another cause it was such a heap oh and titans kick very much ass
Still creates jobs here in America. The Titan is an awesome truck. I have quite a few "old" brochures they sent me every month before the release. :Brow:
Let me let you guys in on a little something. The Dodge Hemi has a top speed limiter which is controlled by the computer. It shuts the truck's acceleration down at 110mph. I don't know how fast they were going when they raced but that is a fact. If you remove the top speed eliminator, I'd like to see how the two trucks would fare against each other. :3gears:
2wd reg cab hemi is only about 15.3-15.4 range stock so is a chevy in a 15 sec run your not going to pull over 100 mph
dodge is pretty heavy.......heaviest truck of all 1/2 tons currently built......also the dodge has trouble with the tranny its real slow shifting and its not a true 5 speed just has 2 second gears a lower version and higher version .......it selects which one on kick down that is better for application the tranny itself adds most of the weight the hemi also feels a little overrated hp wise from driving them
Isnt the Daimler Chrysler Dodge Ram technically an import? The Titan was designed in a California Studio, Built in America and only sold in North America, is it a import?
