Tires for traction

I know that this questions been asked a dozen times in a dozen ways but here we go again. I currently have a set of soft recaps on my 455 Skylark, 28 inches tall. It has SSM lift bars and a sway bar, plus air bags. Anything under 20 miles an hour and she just lights up the tires, this is a torque motor thats out of sream at 4700 RPMS. I need tires, question is some guys like BFGS and some guys say they won't hold. Ditto on hoosiers and even M+Hs. Bowling Green is coming up so how about some insight here? Also qualify your answers with some kind of info on how your combo runs. Like mine runs just over 100 MPH.

    Thanks

    A different point of veiw

South side bar are the wrong way to hook on the street . They hit the tire harder only on the initial lauch under sticky conditions. They are bad for transfering the weight to the back tires since, because of the reconfigured geometry. The cg/lift point is in the middle of the car instead of the front. So the rear end has less leverage lifting the front of the car and transfering the weight to the back. No weight on the back=less traction. I had the problem develop on my street car when I went to the Dick Miller set-up which puts the geometry in the same cofiguration as the Southsides.
Moroso drag springs 47160 gave the best push/jump on the front end for weight transfer but the front end sat a little low. For a stock ride height try 47190 springs. The Moroso springs carry more stored energy (there longer) and it takes less effort to lift the front end.
Air bags are ok on the strip to keep the twist down but if there raising the back of the car up let the air out on the street since it will keep more weight on the back tires and you wont be twisting it on the street anyway.
I ran nitrosed 10.40 sec street car, ran 11.40's on motor, on McCrairy 28*10.5 dot's and cut 1.62 60ft. at the track in a 3680lb car. Hope this helped, good luck!
