I'M about to purchase a new set of tires for my 55 Century. The information that I have researched, does not agree with each other.

One says that radials will cause the car to wander and the other saye that bias tires will cause the car to wander.

I don't know if I should buy 7.60x 15 bias tires or buy 225/75R 15 TIRES (or 235/75R 15 TIRES) Iwould appreciate your opinon on this subject

    Thank you
    Buckeye.

I put 225/75 radials on my 55 century when I had it. It made all the difference in the world in how it drove, so much better. No wandering, and just comfortable . Do the biased ply for points and the radials for driving!

Whichever you get, Be sure all the suspension bushings and shocks are in good shape. Tire pressure is very important, I keep mine at 35p.s.i.

I've got bias on mine. They don't drive bad. But, they are different than radials.

I would go with the larger size.

I guess it depends how much you're planning to drive your car. If you're planning to put a few thousand on it then radials would be fine. They will not make the car wander as much as bias py tire will. The OEM tires will hydroplane on spit and find every rut in the road. The radials will stress your ball-sockets on your drag-link; those tires are too sticky for the old fashioned steering geometry so parallel parking with radials and power-steering might cause some of them to pop apart, or your idler arm can come apart. It's probably best to have those parts checked out before switching to radials. However, if you keep the tires slightly over-inflated it usually isn't much of an issue.
