We want to replace the G60-15 Goodyear Polglass tires on our 1970 gs455 Conv. Want to go with BF Goodrich Radial TA's. We have been done with the car show circuit for a while and want to drive the car more. The car is restored to concours original. Thinking of 235-60-15 or 245-60-15, think the 245 are close to G-60, but do not want them to rub. Will probably look into selling the G-60. What is size is the best. I know this has been ask before. Thanks in advance Paul
I've run both & either one will be fine. Have never had a rub w/245's on several cars and was very pleased w/the look of 235's (was definitely questioning that decision prior to installing).
Agree with previous comments. I’m running 255/60 on all four corners on my 71. Mine occasionally rub usually happens on uneven surface turning tight. So I would say you go 245’s.
I also say 245s. The orig. G60 Polyglas were 26.5 in diameter and so are the 245s. The 235s are a little shorter at about 26.1.
Probably best to start a new thread in the "parts for sale" with tread depths, date codes (& price/location) but do think it's adorable that you made this post.
I like 245/60-15 up front and 255/60-15 rear. Gives a subtle more muscular look......also a little less rpm on the highway vs 245/60.
Agree with Bruce, but do you want to rotate the tires? Worry about flat tires? Then you need 5 tires the same size. What, me worry? I run 295/50/15 in the rear! Fill up that wheel well!
Once I get more info I will post it, still need to get the new tires first and find someone local that can mount them Thanks
Paul, as already stated, if you want to sell anything, you need to start a separate thread in the Parts For Sale Forum. You can link that thread, here, but you can't sell anything in The Bench.
