my 04 GMC Sierra CC Duramax needs a set of tires. The tires currently on it, which I believe are the original, are Bridgestone V-Steel. They seem fine in the summer, but are just ok in the snow. I drive the truck daily in the winter months and occassionally the other months. It's also my tow vehicle (obviously) when heading to races. I'd like a tire with a little better traction in the snow then what I have now. Anyone have any experiences or recommendations on tires, both good and bad? Thanks, Chris
Can't say enough good about the BFG All terrains on my F250. Traction is awesome. They don't have an E rated tire yet, but I went a few sizes oversize and the D ratings per tire are higher than the E's in the standard size. Had to move the front bumper all the way forward in the slots for clearance on turns.
Pirelli Scorpion ATR's are very good tires. Very highly rated on tirerack.com. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=Scorpion+ATR Here is the survey of light truck A/T tires from their website: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=ORAT Here's another place that also has VERY good prices on tires and free shipping on most: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/home.do
Goodyear Wrangler TD in LT rating are flipping awesome! Bridgestone Duelers aren't bad, we have them on the 3/4 fleet vehicles.
I wont use anything but the bfg all terrains. hands down the best tire i have ever had, they last long too
BFG All-Terrain....exc tire and I usually get 50k out of mine.....on my third set on two different trucks......won't use anything else on my GM trucks.
I love Tire Rack for this kind of stuff. The customer support guys haven't steered me wrong yet. They usually give good recommendations if their website gives too many options to narrow down a choice.
Again, BFG all terrain.....hands down. Good price, too since they don't have an E rated tire and older technology....(pre-Chinesium)
