  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration.   3. The "Group Buy" for the 1967-68 Deluxe Steering wheel recasting is now officially "Open". Now is the time to start sending in the wheels. The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra.     i am going to be putting a 1975 455 motor in my 69 stage 1 and don't no what i have to do to make the hei ignition work the original 400 was not in the car when i purchased it. help anyone

    You will need to run a ignition-HOT 12V wire from the fuse block out to the distrib. The stock '69 Wire is a resistor wire and IS NOT suitable for the HEI.

    Do a few searches here and you'll find alot better detailed info as this has been covered a few times.

    Open your wiring harness under the hood. There will be only ONE cloth wire. TAHT is your ignition (resistor) wire. Replace it from the bulkhead connector to the coil with 16 ga wire. If you need an OEM clip that goes in the bulkhead connector just let me know. Before I rewired my harness with all new clips and fasteners I just opened up that connector and re-used it. You'll need to solder the wire to it because the factory wire was 18 ga and the 16 ga wire won't let the connector crimp around it.

    thanks for that info,but believe it or not i went to orlando this weekend to p/u my car and the engine and the guy had sold the 75 455, so he gave me a 73 455 w/ points. in the future i will buy an hei ignition, will the installation still be the same? please let me no, thanks ron:Dou:

    You should be fine with the original wiring on a points distributor. :grin:
