Cason wheres your car shift into third? i usually left off at 80, and if it shifts before then I don't notice it, but i catch rubber in second about 50-55 I think.
I kind of wish I could burn my own rice, I'd love for my budget buick to be able to beat my STi in the 1/4, but that aint happenin' any time soon...
hey you might be right also..as the 73-71 blocks had lower compression then the 71-72 due to taller deck height!
Yeah. Mike you're right i think my motor is an 8.1:1 motor, or something like that. My engine is '73, that i guess you could call rebuilt, and no I don't know the cam specs.o No:
Its a low comp motor from the factory, but the origonal owner could have bumped the comp some when they did a rebuild. I looked up specs for the 292 erson for a buick and couldnt find anything, but it looks like they used the same grind on that perticular cam for all 350 motors. Performance Level #3 - Power Band from 1,400 to 4,400 RPM; Redline @ 5,400 RPM Erson Cams 210121 Advertised Duraton Intake 292 Exhaust 292 Duration @ 0.050" Intake 214 Exhaust 214 Lift Intake 0.478'' Exhaust 0.478'' Im guessing this is ur cam but im not sure. If it is then that really isnt a "baby" cam.
You have a good start for a turbo 350. Looks like you could do it for less than $3000. It is hard to do a good rebuild for that. That cam should be just about right and 8:1 is a good compression for a turbo. Run a 3:23 gear with a posi and run 13's all day. It will be so quiet know one will know what you have.
eh... i think 3000 might be stretching it, cause I will have to go through the fuel sys. larger exhaust, then the rear will be what atleast a grand alone? i just wan;t to get this thing running good with a big gear, and maybe add a small shot of nitrous... p.s. car is running freakishly hard today, or maybe its cause the first time i drove it in a day or two... im gonna see if i can get someone to video the gauges on a run up to about 85, so maybe i can post it and what you guys think.
