Well had the bright idea that I would replace my 66 A body tilt steering column shift lever due to some surface rust issues, plus I had an nice one with a black shift knob. So I pull the pin, pulled out the shift lever and low and behold there is a spring laying in the vacant shifter area that must be the spring that applies pressure to the shift to keep it pulled forward and it the detents. Hummmmmmmmm. I have looked in my manuals for a note or assembly instruction that addresses the spring and replacing the shift lever, but have found nothing. Anyone on the board have experience with this situation.
    Thanks
    Mike
