Dear V-8 Buick fans of chrome! :bglasses:

I need to have some parts rechromed and I decided to try Custom Metal Finishing Indiana based on recommendations of other members of this board. Here is their website with all their contact information:

    http://www.chromeplatingin.com/index.html

They were very pleasant and professional to deal with and they did some really outstanding work. There are some before and after photos of their work:

Here is what they were able to do with it:

Sorry the photo is a little bit out of focus but the restored luster is obvious.

Here is the corresponding before view of the back:

Here is what the back looks like now!

Their prices seemed reasonable for the detailed work they were doing. The only downside is that they are very popular, so be prepared to wait in line!

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

P.S. The observant reader might suspect from this job that there might be a scheme unfolding to come up with a quality restoration of a 1965 Buick hood ornament.

My best answer would be in those immortal words of Bugs Bunny . . . . . .

    Nah . . . . could be!

    stay tuned! . . . . [IMG]

    wheelz 'B' is for Buick.

Edouard, curious, what are you going to to do about getting the tri shield logos detail back on that ornament???

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

That's what I was wondering as well. Edouard, is the owner's last name Proctor? There was a Custom Metal Finishing here in Michigan, owned by two brothers. They split up and the one here is now called Proctor Metal Finishing. Brother opened elsewhere.

While I was dropping off and picking up my items at the one here in Hagerstown IN, I did learn they moved to Indiana from Michigan. Their first names are James (Jim), Jimmy and Josh but last name is Canfield if my memory is correct.
They are a member on our wonderful V8 community but have not logged in for over a year. http://www.v8buick.com/member.php?35010-58limited

While I visited, I mentioned my daughter lives in Hesperia MI. They mentioned they had a Great Uncle that was the DNR in that area and they did not live to far away from Hesperia but don't recall where.

There is a plan! (Re: Thumb's up for Custom Metal Finishing Indiana!)

Dear wheelz, Jerry, and V-8 Buick fans of the 1965 models,

I thought I would check with Custom Metal Finishing for some recommendations, but I have already started researching the available adhesives. It doesn't look that difficult.

Nope, must be unrelated. Custom Metal Finishing Indiana is owned by James Canfield.

    Cheers, Edouard

    Jerry,
I dropped off a couple of my last items to be chrome plated at Custom Metal Finishing in Indiana yesterday. I asked Jim Canfield about Custom Metal Finishing in or around Muskegon/Grand Rapids. Indeed, these are brothers that are now in two different areas. Jim and family moved here 13 years ago.
Last year Jim, Jimmy and Jake moved the Business to Cambridge City IN.
    Small world, Huh?
