    Darryl Roederer Life is good

Yesterday, 73 and sunny... Drove around with the top down, shorts and T-shirt. Cut the grass, and spent the rest of the afternoon turning the wrenches on one of the Buicks.

This morning, woke up to snow and a low of 29!

    :moonu:

So, how's the weather in your neck of the woods?

This morning I woke up to a whopping 25*.

I can't really winterize irrigation systems when the water is already frozen:Do No:

I spent pretty much all day yesterday out in the garage with the doors wide open. Awesome weather the whole time.

Today it snowed a little bit (didnt' stick though) and it's freezing cold outside!

    I hate winter. :ball:

Highs still in the 70s here. No killing frost and perhaps no frost yet. Many flowers still in bloom. Still seeing some butterflys on the flowers. There is a chance this may go into December which I believe is a record here.

Although there was a little bit of the white stuff for some, last week (not me), the typical winter weather in WA is:

Sub-freezing but no moisture or 35 degrees and raining.

Cold rain sucks. Give me a foot of snow over it any day!

went out this morning to start my 4 door lesabre ..... and the alt belt squeeeeeeled like a pig ....... pop the hood while it is warmin up and everything looks fine ....well.......EXCEPT THE FAN AINT TURNIN WHILE EVERYTHING ELSE IS!!!!
water pump froze solid, as is th radiator, rad hoses, heater hoses, puke tank, and plastic cup of water i keep in th console for the dog. couldnt even get th rad cap off.

OOPS. :Dou: i hadnt put nothin but water in the radiator after august's water pump replacement.
so i remove the alt belt and let the motor idle for about 20 minutes to thaw itself out while i pour hot water on the radiator, water pump, and rad hoses.
got it all free'd up, drained it, and put th green mix in and she is just fine.
what a nice way to spend th first half of th day ..... but i like winter anyway.

  17. I'm already sick of winter. Guess I should be after 43 years of this... :moonu:

We're thinking about a week off in TX in January. I have family in Lubbock, wife has 'em in Dallas/FW area. Not just a short vacation, we'll also be scoping it out for a possible move in 2 years, when we can get out of our house. I haven't been to Lubbock in 20+ years, so I imagine it's changed some, but I liked it the first time I visited there. Dallas??? :Do No: :puzzled:

Oh yeah, we've been between single digits, and about 20-25 for a few weeks now, with maybe 2-3 inches of snow on the ground, including some fresh stuff last night. Shoveling sidewalks/driveways sucks. I wish it would just dump a foot of snow so I could use the snow blower instead.

Get away from it all.Another few weeks and I will be singing a different tune however! Rod

Well in Montana near the Canadian Border we had -15* 2 nights ago with about 3" of white stuff on top of the melted snow that is now ice from last week. Its like a hidden trap that snow on top of that ice wow look out :eek2: . As I type its showing 34*. Ah the life in Montana if you don't like the weather stick around its gonna change. Have a happy holiday.

:ball: from my perspective thats damn near tropicial compared to the weather in Northern British Columbia, lately. Last 3 nights we have had lows around -22 to -23 F, with higher than normal winds. Only about 6" of snow though. Still waiting patiently to fire up the sleds and hit the mountains. Must be nice to winter out in the central / southern states!. Take care...
