Looking for opinions, how will my combo respond and hold up to a 150 hp shot of NOS ?
    Combo as follows:
75 455 blue block .040 over Wiseco forged pistons, 11.5 to 1 compression
    T/A sportmans rods
    Stock crank
    Edelbrock Alumn heads
    T/A 290-08HL cam
    T/A SP-1 intake
    850 Demon annular discharge carb.
    1.65 roller rockers
car ran 11.22@119 on motor in Bowling Green this past May

Do you have a block girdle? Looks like you'll be cranking up some real HP already. What kind of RPM will the motor be turning at the finish line if you have an extra 10 MPH?

No, I have no girdle on it..Its only spinning around 5500 rpm in the lights now. The rpm formula shows at 140 mph it will spin 6500 rpm. I'm not thinking its going to go 140 just using it as a reference point. Do you think with a 150 shot its only going to pick up 10 mph?

If you go by the rule of thumb that 10HP = 0.1 second, then 150HP will be 1.5 seconds & 15 MPH. But the actual gain depends on a bunch of things.

If you will still be below 600HP with the 150-shot (or have a very lightweight rotating assembly), then you're probably okay without a girdle. But I'm guessing your getting above the "safety point".

I don't recall how well the Edelbrocks flow on the exhaust side, but as long as you have a decent exhaust system then the car should react nicely to nitrous.

Can it handle the extra power at launch?

Do you have a fuel system that can sustain that much extra HP? (Or, can you modify it to do so?)

I assume you're already using race fuel, with 11.5:1 you're really gonna have to make sure you have the right gas going in there.

The car ran 9.60 when it had the turbo V6 in it. with 1.41 to 1.45 60' times and would wheelstand like crazy so I'm pretty sure it will hook up. And what I was planning was to ramp the NOS in slowly and have it so its not full until 2nd gear. It has T/A headers and a 3" exhaust X pipe exhaust system that dumps at the rear axle, no tail pipes. the fuel system is a Holley Blue pump with a -8 line from tank sump to carb where it splits to two -6 lines feeding carb.

you should be fine my motor had stock rods and steel hads with a 225 shot it would pickup over 8 tenths and around 10mph spraying it in second gear you may want to up octane for the nitrous. im sure you will want to go to a bigger kit than the 150 once you get used to it. Oh i just read your last post becareful wit the holley it may not be able to handle the load of the nitrous and motor. I would suggest gettting a better fuel pump or going with a dedicated nitrous pump.

I sprayed 150Hp to stock shortblock with hypertectic and ran 6.80 at 101 in the 1/8. Drove it everywhere. Stayed together until I built a faster one.
