Bobb, Rick Martinez?? In the EIGHTS?? HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!! You have to spend MONEY to go eights! I don't want to suggest that Rick is tight....but...you need a crowbar to open his wallet!!You MUST be JOKING!! THANKS! I haven't laughed so hard in months! HeeHeeHeeHee!! I need to rest now. I'm all worn out. Eights! Giggle. Chuckle.

Come on Doug you must be sniffing that high octane fuel again. :gt: Please go re-read my post, I never said 8's for me. And for the record I do not expect to run 8's. And no I will not put nitrous on it. I will be happy with the 9.20's-30's as I stated previously. Actually you never ran the eights with the new engine either, though I am giving you and JW credit as in time you will be in there.

It seems that Bobb Makley was just going down the list starting with the 8 second V8's and working his way downward. I beleive his point is that the Norwalk Quick 16 will no doubt be expanded to a Q-32 and that bump is definately going to surprise everyone. Another words one hell of a fast field of cars and we haven't even touched the turbos yet.

So cool down those holley jets there. Yeah I can be tight, but unfortunately or I should re-phrase that, fortunately I have an overhead (family, wife etc) but thats where you come in, that little guy sitting on my shoulders saying, "go ahead, spend it take it out its only money:TU: "

Tight? Oh and Doug by the way this engine is a cash deal. When its done it will be mine and I will owe nothing. I will be clean and free from loans and credit cards.

    Rick

Piglet: I think Doug is right. RM in the 8's. Sound like a heads up challenge if I ever heard one. First round Norwalk. Second round BPG 04. Winner gets to take on the wagon!!!

Moses are you sniffing the same octane??? I NEVER SAID 8's. No rumors here please.

I would think a heads up against the TA Wagon and Doug would be better since they both haven't lined up since the old days when we all wondered who and how shy a certain person was.

Piglet: What was all the smack about new aluminum heads, intake, and SPRAY . What about the quote "I won't be needing Scotty to get it in the 8's". Ouch!:Brow:

Rick, I didn't say that you expected eights. Or had even mentioned eights. Just that Bobb seemed to think it was possible. I merely commented on the unrealistic nature of that prediction because you are so CHEAP!! You are certainly capable of going eights, but it's not gonna happen because you choose to feed and clothe your family, instead of being a real man and spending the big dollars on a Stage IV motor. I do cherish my job as the little devil on your shoulder, whispering "c'mon, do it. buy those heads. and that cam. and new headers. she'll never know. do it. c'mon. I would. do it. do it. yeeaaahhh. doesn't that feel gooood?" If I'm ever looking for a job, I'd make a good drug dealer.

Re: 4 cars in the 8's?

Please Doug maybe you need my old glasses, please read the parts of Bob's quote. I think it says "..and a few that are close we could have as many as 8 or 9 in or darn close" Though you did not actually come out and say it, you did imply it. Shall I quote your post, "Bobb, Rick Martinez?? In the EIGHTS?? HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!! "

Well Dougy Poo, Bobb is correct on the above those listed are close or will be close, he never suggested 8's. No doubt Sweesy will be there and I don't know enough about Gary, as with Bob Lucchesi (yes Doug the spelling is correct) he needs a driver with his son in Florida now. And 9.30's as a goal, I would consider close, 9.0's like what you have run I would consider that as good as in. Though technically your not there either (with you at the wheel). So please don't jump to conclusions here. Like you always tell me, "get it right".

    Michael Evans a new project

Jim, Like I was telling George at The Midwest Buick Challenge. WSRacing made me a 1972 Skylark front bumper for me this summer. They now have a mold to make more. He told me that anyone that wants one, they would be $140.00 plus S/H. Call and talk to Walter.

The steel bumper weights 26 pounds and the fiberglass bumper weights four. As you can fiqure that is 22 pounds difference.

I'm sure you can get that 97 pounds down to something like 30:Do No:

I just remembered that he already had a fiberglass 1970 bumper that he had modified:Dou: So, I guess it would be just a cosmetic thing

I know you were kidding arround but it is: 440-998-6341

    Careful Dougy-poo..

The words "as good as they can be" have left Rick's lips and fingertips concerning these heads...

I have seen his parts list, and heard what he has on order from various folks, and trust me, he will have more $$ into the top half of his motor than you do..

    :eek2:

I don't think anyone is gonna confuse him with someone who was "cheap" when all is said and done here.

    Thanks Michael,

George needs a front clip and doors... he already has a glass bumper bolted to his one piece steel clip, but I do believe the one piece glass clip has the bumper molded in.

I do need to call them, just for the info, on the shipping weight of the front clip, although I am hesitant to disturb the balance of this car..

    It's 49.9 front/ 50.1 rear right now.

    John,

Maybe when they checked your car, they only checked the driver compartment.. but when they did George's, they checked the forward bars in the engine compartment, and everything in the trunk also. The rules regarding CM/MS cages are cloudy at best.. there is really nothing written, and I called and talked to Don Ness (local Pro Stock builder) who informed me that our local inspector could get cranky if we left the forward struts of the cage, and the forward dash bars mild, and built with CM from the dash rearward. So we could not take the chance.

And my memory of the last time he sprayed it (10 yrs ago?) is of a few of us in the pits at BG after a run, listening to Rick crank the motor over, and me saying "uh oh, that doesn't sound good!" :Dou:
