Just bought a set of new rear tail lights for my 1971 Buick Skylark. Total cost was over $200.00 with gaskets but was willing to pay the price as long as I was getting a new product. When I received the items I immediately noticed that one light had Grey paint smeared into the red area looking light someone tried to clean up a mistake. Then I noticed that the Grey trim paint was applied in various shades instead of a solid color. I called the Parts Place and was told they were aware of the issues but that I HAD TO PAY RETURN SHIPPING COST FOR REPLACEMENT! Why should I I be responsible for the cost of returning defective items????? In these times you would think they would be concerned with customer service. Never was told of the policy when I place a phone order!:af:

i hate them too, they send me a cracked spoiler for my judge convert and told me i should expect cracks and chip, its aftermarket...their ebay ad said and i quote

"tired of poor quality spoilers?this is the best on the market, just sand and paint...absolutey the best quality on the market, made exactly like the factory and has the same appearence"...

Helen Keller must have made mine..looks like its pregnant...when i questioned them they balked wanted me to pay return etc..heres the good part...the crack had dirty greasy finger prints on it...like somone rubbed it...

never again...Ill pay 2x as much before i use them, I could have gotten past the crack if they wouldnt have abused me....im very sensative:pp

NOW on the positive side....they produce more Buick and Pontiac stuff than anyone else..they are the suppliers to everyone..but Ill buy their stuff from another supplier and pay the premium..

Its a shame! Its apparent they don't care what condition your item is received in! You would think if its their fault they would address the issue properly. Wish I would have purchased my item off their listing on e-bay. This way I could have demanded my $ back without being dealt a return fee!

i bought mine on ebay, the told me too bad so sad, and did nothing...they sided with the seller..even though i proved to them i was shipped a broken part, and the fact that TPP changed the listing to hide the facts...they suck..screw 'em

the said TPP was a long time valued seller...see that as a fee generator...

I always use my credit card. Even for my paypal purchases. That way if they don't back you you can contest it through the credit card company. They seem to be pretty good at backing the purchaser.

Had a similar experience. I had a list totalling over $6,000 and asked for a quote. When I didn't get a response I sent an email to the person who hangs around V8. His response was to send me their website address! Sent a similar request to OPGI and had an immediate response. Needless to say where I spent my $6,000.

    Jeff T Just a 350... A Buick 350

They are close to me and I stopped in to pick up a few parts. I was in the place probably 15 minutes before anyone took the time to acknowledge me. I felt like I was bothering them... what a pity...

Once again folks..... If you purchase from out of state and the seller does not want to make good on the deal, contact the Attorney General's Office in your state and the seller's state and FILE A COMPLAINT. The Att'y Gen. may not side with you the first time, but once a seller starts receiving several complaints, the A.G's office in their state will start to apply pressure on them.

I purchased a defective SBC crate motor years ago from a seller in Az. It was too far away for me to pursue a legal battle but the Az. A.G's office got on the seller's back to make sure that they resolved the issue. I ended up getting all of my money back except for 1/2 of the shipping. I also posted as much negative publicity as I could on as many forums as I could - believe it or not the seller started to feel the pain as his sales declined from the bad reputation he was creating. A lot of people who read my posts sent the bozo an e-mail saying how they were in the market for a crate motor and had considered his shop but were now buying elsewhere. Ya' gotta love the internet!

There are also UCC (interstate trade) laws that come into play when you sell across state lines. Violate those and you have some serious issues to deal with.

IN ADDITION - if you are so inclined, you can contact the FBI's branch of the internet crime division (the IC3) which is designed to go after internet fraud - such as misrepresenting the quality of an item and then taking advantage of the fact that a buyer is not likely to pursue a seller across state lines.

Has anyone noticed that you can no longer see who you are bidding against on ebay? Or that you can no longer contact other ebayers'? When I got screwed over the crate motor I contacted every other customer of that seller and found that about 65% were unhappy with their product. I told them most of what I told you here. I guess ebay did not like that very much - that is probably why you can not contact other buyers through ebay any more. It has NOTHING TO DO with any privacy policy - it is just ebay covering their arses and protecting their scammers, er - I mean sellers.:spank:
